Our teams come to your home or office and will remove virtually anything from appliances and electronics to old furniture and yard debris. Your junk goes into our trailers and to our sorting center for recycling. We do the lifting, carrying, cleanup, hauling and sorting.

Can you recycle everything?

Everything goes through our sorting center for recycling. If an item cannot be reused, refurbished or recycled, our sorting center crew breaks it down, removes recyclable components and minimizes the size. They take this job seriously. Our company bylaws forbid our trailers from going to dumps, landfills or city transfer stations, so if we can’t recycle it, we have to pay a competitor to haul it away.

How do you charge?

For normal household and office items we charge by the amount of space your junk takes up in our trailers. Dense items like concrete and iron can only be stacked one foot high. So your costs depend on the amount of junk you have.

Are you more expensive than your competitors?

No. We do not pay dump fees at landfills, dumps or city transfer stations so we can pass those savings on to you. Our prices are usually less than our biggest competitors.

Your competitors say they recycle.

We know they do. Their websites say they recycle UP TO 65% of the items they pick up, but do not say what percentage they guarantee to recycle. They also clearly state their service is to pick your items up, take them to the dump and pay the dump fee. We guarantee 100% of your unwanted stuff will be reused, donated to charity or go through our sorting center for recycling. If we can’t recycle it, our sorting center crew dismantles it, removes recyclable parts and minimizes its size.

When should I book?

Do I have to be there?

It helps. Our team likes to verify they are taking the right stuff, getting all the items you want taken to our sorting center for recycling and giving you an accurate quote. We also like for you to verify our work is completed to your expectations. However, we can take credit cards over the phone.

Do you work after hours?

Junk Goes Green does not take your unwanted items to landfills, dumps, or city transfer stations, so we are not restricted by their hours of operation. It is not safe for our teams to carry items in the dark, but we can work evenings and Sundays by special request.

What do you do with the junk?

We are the only junk removal service in Houston that guarantees 100% of your junk will be reused, donated to charity or go through our sorting center for recycling. If we can’t recycle it, our sorting center crew dismantles it, removes recyclable parts and minimizes its size.

Can you take paint, chemicals or hazardous waste?

No. We are not licensed to haul or dispose of hazardous materials.

Can you move my stuff to another location?

We are not trained or insured to guarantee a scratch and dent free move for your good items. We only remove your unwanted items.

Do you resell and make money from my unwanted items?

Most usable items are donated to charity for refurbishing and reuse. We do collect some revenue from recycled materials to help cover the costs of our sorting center.

What type of equipment do you carry?

Our teams consist of two strong people, shovel, broom, wheelbarrow and dolly. They can remove most unwanted household items, yard debris and office equipment.

Will charities come to my home?

Some will. They have limited pick up days; some make you carry items to the curb. In most cases they take only the items they want, leaving you with lots of junk still taking up your space. Positions at Junk Goes Green include:

Territory managers: Responsible for sales and ensuring service in an assigned territory. Duties include sales, employee management, marketing, service fulfillment, goal achievement and quality assurance.

$10 per hour + commissions + tips.

Drivers: Responsible for driving light duty truck and trailer (no special license required) and assisting territory managers in all duties. Must be able to maneuver vehicle forwards and backwards in tight spaces like parking garages and town home complexes.

$7 -10 per hour + tips

Yard managers: Responsible for keeping junk out of landfills. Must have solid understanding of the recycling industry including: charitable donation facilities, dismantling processes and recycling centers. Duties include sorting, sourcing recyclers and preparing items for recycling.

$8 per hour + incentives.

We require clean criminal and driving records and those clean records must be maintained.
